Inexpensive hotels in Paris

Trying to find a double room in Paris (prefer the 5th, 6th, 14th district) in mid-June. Would prefer to spend no more than $110 a night. Would want it near the Metro. Any suggestions as to where to look?

At that price you're probably looking at the 14th, not the 5th or 6th. I can't recommend a specific hotel, but we stayed in an apartment just off rue Raymond Losserand, near the Pernety metro stop, and noticed several nice-looking small hotels and lots of restaurants and shops. The neighborhood is close to the Tour Montparnasse (better view from it than of it), the cemetery, and the rue Daguerre market. Convenient to the railroad (Gare Montparnasse) and the RER (Denfert Rochereau), a good walk to most Left Bank sights. You could poke around via Google Earth and hit some hotel websites.

We always book our hotels 6 months in advance for Paris. You might be a little late but go to www.heart-of-Paris-hotels.com, and click on the area you want to stay. You are not going to find much for $110USD except with a shared bath down the hall. Go to tripadvisor.com, Paris forum and ask the same question. Lots of veteran travelers and many Parisians will help you out.

I just went thru the same search, using Hotels.com (also found Venere.com good). Albeit I'm staying the 2nd week of May ($100/night), I found a great hotel on rue Raymond Losserand, right at the Pernety metro stop in the 14th. Pavillon Losserand Montparnasse
76 Rue Raymond Losserand You are probably looking at $120+ in June for a good 3* hotel.

Did anybody try www.yeego.com I used them on my last trip to Paris in March during Spring Break. Their prices are very good and many times bfast is included in your rate. I saved at least 200 Euro booking my hotel through them rather than directly...and definitely a huge savings over hotels.com or venere.
