We stayed at Novotel Lyon La Part Dieu in Lyon mostly because it was right at the train station. It is close to the metro lines and very quiet. It was not the most atmospheric place and the restaurant had very erratic hours but we enjoyed the comforts. Lyon was a suprise addition to our whirl of travel through Paris and Northern Italy. We spent three days there resting, shopping, and seeing the very accessible roman ruins and other monuments. Lyon is so easy to be in we starting thinking of retiring there.
