Help!! I have checked the recommended hotels and am finding prices of 150-175 Euros...what happened to the under $100 decent hotels?? And why am I having trouble finding hotels with available rooms for March 11th, 2008? When I have checked Ibis or Sofitel, as soon as I enter my date, it says "Sorry, there are no rooms available for your selected date." Can anyone help me?
Check the Accor hotels' Etap Charles de Gaulle Paris Nord 2 hotel at http://www.accorhotels.com/accorhotels/fichehotel/gb/etp/3515/fiche_hotel.shtml . Stayed there several times, and like the basic but good accommodations (with private bathrooms) adjacent to the Ibis and Suitehotel in the same development....a 10 minute shuttle ride from the RER station and the CDGVal people mover. 44 Euro/night, and available 11 March.
I have used the www.inthotels.com website a few times. Just click on the flag for English and it will have you select the country and city. Also has a selection of near the airport. It will ask you if you want in dollars, euros whatever. I recommend this website. I have has no problems with them. All the best. Kim
I agree with Norm, Etap hotel is great we stayed there in August. amaazing value for CDG.If full do not give up, keep trying.
I have sometimes been able to book with a site like Venere.com or Priceline.com even when a hotel said they were full. I suspect (but don't know for sure) that there are blocks of rooms made available through different vendors - worth a try. Sometimes I've found that they just don't have their website up for the time period - March isn't far away, but is in 2008.
If you have a car, there are some really nice B&B's in Senlis which is about 30 minutes from the airport. Great little walled city, little traffic. The B&B we stayed at was run by Sylvaine Reenterick and she charges 80 euros a night. The stairway is tricky but great place.
I am trying to resurrect this old thread to ask about 2008 information on hotels near CDG (preferably with a shuttle service).
We were told that our early morning flight from Rome is now late at night, so our arrival into CDG is around 11:30 p.m.
It is very doubtful that our apartment agent would be around in the wee hours of the morning to hand us a key, so our best bet at this point is probably an inexpensive hotel. Any recent suggestions? We are a family of four so unless these hotels allow four in a room, we'll be forced to rent two!
So much for Vueling's cheaper fare...ugh.
Eli, try checking Expedia and Travelocity for available hotels, then call the hotels to see if they can give you a better rate. I noticed that some hotels have quad rooms, if that works better for you. Good luck on your searching and be sure to post your results.
Eli....see the earlier posting about the Etap and Ibis hotels at CDG Nord 2. Each will only allow 3 people per room...but the Etap is only 46 Euro/night each room
Norm, I will try that. I don't mind two rooms if they're under 50 euros each. Once they're way over 100 it's hard to pay for two rooms knowing I already paid for my apartment and can't use it!! I'll get over the irritation, but just let me vent a little meantime.
Eli
Eli, in a PM to you I suggested you check the Ibis Hotel next to Terminal 3. The hotel's Web page says that there are rooms for up to five people.
The terminals are close together and recently, a nifty rail shuttle connects all the terminals, and it's free!
Tim, we're apparently going to Terminal 1.
Not sure how that changes things i.e. hotel choices.
Tim, I am trying Ibis online and getting an error everytime I add 4 people to a room.
This is the link I am using.
