College de France is fine (small rooms as are most in that area). Unaware of the Cujas Pantheon.

Any in that area, especially the cluster just across the street from the west entrance to the Sorbonne offer good value. Also the ones on the other side of the university (between there and Rue Monge) are similarly satisfactory. Probably few if any are on the RS list. The way to save bucks in that area is to stay south (uphill) from Blvd Saint-Germain.

Conny, We stayed at the Hotel College de France for 5 nights October 2008. We enjoyed it very much and would definitely stay there again. Location is wonderful, and you can walk to many sights. The room was fairly large with a nice bathroom. The front desk people was very helpful. Free computer was nice. It's good value at around 100 Euros. Good restaurants nearby. Check out their website and read the good reviews on Trip Advisor.

I have stayed at the Hotel Cluny Sorbonne which is on rue Victor Cousin across the street from the Sorbonne. My husband and I stayed there for our anniversary in 05 and my sister and I were there for a couple days this past October. The price is right, the rooms are clean, the location is convenient , and the people at the front desk are very helpful.

My daughter stayed at the Hotel Marignan that Susan mentioned this past Summer, and she was very pleased with it. She said it was hostel conditions, but very adequate and clean with breakfast. She especially liked the location.

We stayed at the Hotel Familia on Rue Escole. It's a 2-star sister hotel to their 3-star next door-don't remember the name but I think it's on Rick's list. Several cafes, boulangeries, grocers on same street. We have view of Notre Dame from our tiny balcony, and the metro station was a few blocks away. Nice croissant, juice and coffee breakfast each a.m.

Hotel Familia is on rue des Ecoles, not rue Escole :)
