Can anyone recommend an inexpensive place to stay near Granada and Seville?
I never make hotel recommendations, but I would advise you to find a budget hotel not just "near" Granada but in the old part of the city, so that you do not spend too much of your time there just getting back and forth. Remember that you will probably want to return to your hotel midday.
Before anyone can give you a reasonable answer we need to know what you mean by "inexpensive" and "near." Give us something to work with. We are not mind readers.
both cities have plenty cheap family run places. in seville you can taxi to the santa cruz area and there are many families rent their up stairs. great location and authentic settings. RS books have plenty granada family places listed, or you can just ask the taxi driver. taxi is inexpensive and time saving.
Look for 'hostal's. They're small, family-run hotels that are a real bargain. They are not hostels.
Hola Carol: I just booked for my trip in Sept at http://www.elnumero8.com/ as recommended in Rick's book. These are apts in the oldest area of Granada. The apts are anywhere from 40 to 65 euro per ngt. In Seville, I couldn't find anything reasonable, even from Rick's book. I ended up booking an apt right near the cathedral for 50 euro/ngt for the Pabon apt (there are 3 apts). Email address is: www.sevillerental.com Hope this is helpful to you! Adios,
Gail
I booked ARUNDA 1 hotel in the city center for 40 euros for 2 ppl in private room via www.booking.com Hope you appreciate some actual responses rather than useless insults from Frank
