My husband and I will be in Paris during the first day of their 2012 presidential election (April 22). Can anyone offer any insight on what to expect? Will everything be closed? Museums and the like? Any perspective is appreciated!
By Law elections are held on Sunday in France. Other than press coverage and possibly seeing Parisians going to the polls to cast their ballots can't imagine anything being closed. Maybe some political rallies. Washington D.C. doesn't close down so why would Paris? You'll be fine AND get a look at politics in another country.
Fantastic! Thanks so much for your help. I just wanted to plan accordingly if places were to be closed. I'm actually quite excited to be there during it, since it is such a hotly contested election!
