If you stay in Paris for a couple of months, does it make sense

to buy membership cards to museums so that you can visit often? The museum pass requires that you use it consecutively. I do not want to cram six days of museums but rather take them in leisurely. Is there a pass that is not consecutive? Are memberships better? Any other ideas? Thanks.

I totally agree with the other poster.
The second time I visited Louvre was after 3 or 4 PM when it's cheaper or free. I can'r remeber exactly how it was. Anyway the line was really short vs when I paid full price I had to stay on line for 2 hours or so.

I lived in Paris for several months and always made sure to see the museums on the free or discounted days. I saw almost all of them that way. The ones where I had to pay, well it all equaled out.

People will tell you that the lines are horrible on free days. I never found this to be so. Even when the lines are long they move very quickly.

One thing though, many people go to a place like Paris or NY and think what a great oppurtunity to live and see the sights slowly. Most find though, at the end of their stay they they didn't get to them. Always assuming that "there would be time"

They always say that you can see more in 3 days than in 3 months. But also remember the joy of a long stay in Paris is not about the monuments but about the little discoveries.

Museum Pass is consecutive days. You can purchase a 2 day pass if six seems like too much.

However, Louvre is cheaper on Wednesday and Friday nights after 18h.

Many museums are free the first Sunday of each month.

To determine if a membership would be worthwhile, I would suggest looking at the websites for the museums you are thinking of. Not all the small museums have such a membership - Louvre and d'Orsay do.
