If not Berner Oberland in April - then what?

Thank goodness I decided to check on this site! I am using RS Best of Europe 2011 guide book to plan my trip that begins and ends in April. I used this book exclusively to make my route and stops and it looks something like this: Fly into Frankfurt and go immediately to Bacharach 2 nights Bacharach 2 nights Rothenburg 3 nights Prague 3 nights Vienna 3 nights Salzburg 1 night Hallstatt 2 nights Fussen/Reute xxxx was going to Berner Oberland until I looked on this thread*** 2 nights in Zurich (flying out of Zurich). FYI the other 'Best of' places are listed as and I've been to all of them except the 5 places marked with an asterick: Bruges Belgium Paris, Provence, Nice in France Berlin, Germany Londond and Bath in Great Britan Rome, Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre in Italy Amserdam and Haarlem in the Netherlands Barcelona and Madrid* in Spain My questions are:
1) reading this forum helped me realize that Berner Oberland is not a good idea in April if I'm going there to take a train ride up the mountain. So... are there any other places on my trip that are not good places to visit in April? 2) I now have ~4 days open to see something else. What would you recommend? Thanks so much - Janet

Since you're going from Rothenburg to Prague, Berlin would be the natural (and most convenient) choice. It's fantastic and 4 days (including travel time, I assume by train from Rothenburg) would be a perfect amount of time for an introduction to that great city. There's no link - what's the problem with Berner Oberland in April? Everything being closed because it's "off season"? Nothing on your trip through Salzburg should be a problem in April, can't speak to the rest of it.

Thank you for the reply :) I've been reading the posts and they are all saying pretty much the same thing - save berner oberland for another time when it is not April. It is too cloudy for how much money you pay to get and be there.
