Hello. I am travelling to Spain solo in early September. I definitely want to go to Barcelona for a few days, but am looking for other towns to go to that I could fit in for a week. One beach town is a must! Any ideas? Thanks!

I would highly recommend San Sebastian, such a pretty town. It's right on the ocean and not too big or too small.

stacey, you could go to the costa brava, it is near Barcelona, it has nice beaches, nice villages, Dali museum, some nice towns like Figueres, Girona. Also lots of people like to go to Stiges, i hear it is great, you could also go to the Penedes vallee, and Montserrat while you are near Stiges. Hope this helps!

Hey, Stacey. Nice that spring has finally hit Chicago, isn't it? Copy and paste this link for our itinerary (including hotels, restaurants, sites, etc): we did a week in Espana this winter, including Barcelona (3 nights) and Madrid (4 nights), with day trips to Toledo and even Sevilla down south via high-speed AVE train. A lot of detail provided here, but hope it helps. We loved Spain!
