We are flying to Italy and Spain and back mostly on Iberia Air. We wanted to take Rick Steve's suggestion and only take a carryon and "small personal" item, a small backpack. Steve's says the size should be no bigger than 9x14x22" & 20 LBs. Iberia says no more than 7.9 x 15.9 x 21.7" & 17.6 LBs. Do they give any leeway for carryons?
Thanks, Jim
It's best to follow Iberia's specifcations and go small. I believe the restictions in flying between cities in Europe is even tighter. Make sure you check this out. We flew Iberia to Spain last Fall and were fine, but we used an 18" luggage, and we saw people who had larger luggages that did not get weighed. It's best not to take chances because the costs could be prohibitive.
