I have an extra day, what to do?

Hi.
This is my plan thus far: 1st day Wednesday arrive Madrid 7:30 am- see El Escorial and then sleep off the jet lag there.
day 2 go to Segovia (Nov 1st, national holiday is everything closed?) sleep 2 nights Segovia.
Then 1 night Toledo and 1 night Cordoba before heading off into Andalucia.
*I have an extra day so what would you recommend?
these are my choices:
3rd night in segovia
or
2 nights Toledo instead of 1
or
2 nights Cordoba instead of 1

suggestions? Except for Nov 1st I'm not sure what is closed which days...

I think if you spend anymore time in Segovia, you'll be bored out of your mind. It's a very nice little town but there isn't a lot to see after the castle, cathedral, and some shopping. I would stay another day in Toledo. Are you spending anytime in Madrid except for the first night? There are lots of great museums, parks, and tapas bars in Madrid, definitely worth another day.

I agree. In fact, I think I'd cut Segovia to one day and add one to Madrid and one to Toledo.
Madrid does have great museums, great flamenco, etc.

I agree totally with Virginia. Madrid and Toledo deserve more time. I'm not big into museums but the Prado is special and the royal palace is quite interesting. Don't forget the thick dark chocolate for breakfast---yum and all the tapas bars.

Toledo is a beautiful walled town, full of atmosphere, wonderful twisting medieval lanes, artisans practicing their ancient trades, and even a tiny chapel with El Greco's most famous painting up close and personal. Linda

see if Real Madrid is playing that night..if so, go see them at the Bernabeu. They are not at their best, but still its interesting to see a top European team.
