How to travel by rail... cheaply?

I'm planning a trip with a friend and we're meeting in Frankfurt, then taking the rail to Prague for 3 days and then to Muinch for 3 days, and then back to Frankfurt to fly home. Searching the Die Bahn for individual tickets looks pricey. Is there a special pass that anyone could recommend? Such as a national rail pass or eurorail pass? Thank you for your help.

To travel between FRA and the Czech border cheaply:

On Sa or Su, buy a Happy Weekend Ticket (33 euros from a machine at FRA.) It will get you and 4 friends around Germany all day on the Regional (RE, RB, IRE) trains. To find schedules for these trains, stipulate "only local transport" at bahn.de . These trains are a bit slower and you'll need to transfer more often than on the fast equipment.

On weekdays: At Frankfurt, buy regular tickets to Kahl from a ticket machine (might be 15 miles or so?), then buy a "Bayern Ticket" for Kahl to the border (27 Euros .) The Bayern ticket is like the HW ticket but only good within Bavaria (Bayern).

For the Czech Border to Munich, buy a Bayern ticket in advance at Frankfurt or elsewhere in Germany for your travel date.

For the trip back to FRA, use the tickets mentioned above, depending on your day of travel.

I think you'll need to get regular tickets within the Czech republic. Shouldn't be too expensive.
