How to make reservations once I get Eurail pass

Please let me know how to make seat/ Sleeper reservations once I get my eurail pass.
Also, Does making a reservation allow me the flexibilty of eurail pass to change trains?
If so, Would I have to pay for the reservation again for the different train defeating the purpose of a Eurail pass.
Thanks in advance

A reservation is for a specific seat or sleeping accomodation on a specific train on a specific date and at a specific departure time. You may be able to exchange a reservation once you're in Europe, but I don't know if it will cost you extra to do so. In any case, one one way or another, you would need a new reservation.

I would suggest that for sleeper reservations, you get them as soon as they become available. You can do this on Rail Europe or Euraide. Once you book a run, you have paid for any train changes involved in that run.

For the countries in which your pass is valid, you can usually hop on any regional or local train without extra cost. There are exceptions, however. For the premium trains in these countries, you will have to check in at the ticket window or electronic machine to pay your extra fee to ride those trains. www.eurail.com has a page that lists those premium trains and their extra costs.
