I want to take a night train from Munich to Amsterdam. I don't know how to reserve it, I have my train tickets but our trip isn't until September.

"I have my train tickets..". I presume you mean you have rail passes.

Unfortunately, CityNightLine no longer books "Reservations" (accommodations only, sometimes called an Aufpreis or Supplement) only, online. They do, however, book entire tickets, rail part and accommodations, at greatly reduced prices (SparNight) online at www.citynightline.ch.

If you already have a railpass, you must

Call CityNightLine in Germany at (011, or whatever your int'l calling code is)(49 = code for Germany)(1805) 141514. The person who answers might not speak English, but if you say "English", they will quickly provide someone who does.
Book through RailEurope and pay a higher price than directly through CNL.
Contact Euraide.com. They'll get the reservations directly from German Rail at the same price as #1, above, and charge you $50 for the service.

Next time, try CNL directly before committing to railpasses. You can often get advance purchase discount fare for less than the cost of a railpass day plus reservations.

I just tried RailEurope for one date in Sept. and the only reservations they had was for reclining seats. I check with the CNL website for the same date, and they show a full complement of complete (rail and reserv.) tickets.
