Has anyone see this show while in Paris? I meant to go last year in 2011, but didn't have a chance. I will be back in Paris this May 2012 and was thinking of getting tickets. Would love your feedback and reviews. Also, when did you go and how much did you pay for your ticket?
http://oliviergiraud.com/UK/ I'm going to be in Paris in May and it's definitely on my to-do list. Let's see....a Frenchman doing a one-man show in English, more or less affirming that Parisians are in fact rude and arrogant, and it's popular among tourist, ex-pats, and locals. Wild horses couldn't keep me from catching it;) http://youtu.be/9pbnhDm8RwY
Wild horses? A horse burger was what my wife ordered by mistake on our first trip there. It was pretty bad. I can tell you how to become a Parisian. When someone asks you a question in English, act like you don't understand, even if you speak English. Paris is the only place I've ever seen that staffs their tourist information booth at the Gard du Nord with people that won't speak English. That's the train station where the English tourists land after coming over by the Chunnel. Only in Paris.
Erin, there is a long thread on tripadvisor.com about this show. Apparently the show is put on in a theatre owned and run by a very well known anit-semite and many people feel they won't contribute a dime to anything that suports him in any way.. The actual fellow who puts the show on has apparently said he is trying to move the show from that venue,, but in a very very long time has not,, which some believe means he only said that to deflect some public opinion( negagtive) away from him supporting this fellow. As for the show itself,, apparently some thought it amusing, some did not,, depends on your view point.
I have my opinions on this whole topic but leave it to everyone to make their own.
