I'm flying into Barcelona from Paris and fly out Madrid back to the states 8 days later. My ideal itinerary would be to spend a few days in Barcelona, then take the train (or fly?) to Seville, then to Madrid. I'm not sure if this is a good use of our one week. I was thinking another option could be to start in Barcelona then AVE train to Madrid and include a day trip such as Toledo. Would love your input. Thanks
IMHO Spend a few days in Barcelona and then on to Madrid. Rather than visiting Sevilla, do side trips from Madrid to Segovia & Toledo. There is so much to see and do without using more of your precious time travelling. You will enjoy the trip and can see the south on your return to Spain. Hasta la vista!
We did just what you're thinking last year, although for a bit longer time. Barclelona, Seville, Madrid and flew out of Madrid. I would NOT skip Seville if at all possible...enjoyed it much more than the day trip to Toledo. Also, you can do the Alhambra in Granada as a day trip from Seville. Far superior to the day trips around Madrid in my opinion. So much to do in these 3 great cities you don't really even need day trips.
I would if all possible fly to Seville from Barcelona. It will be so much easier with your time frame.
