I will be taking Thalys into Nord and need to transfer to St Lazare to catch a local train to Vernon. How much time should I allow. Will have carry-on with good wheels and day pack.
Funny - I just asked this same question (going the other direction) less then a week ago - maybe try looking down for it or looking at my posts? The answer was under 30 minutues walk/metro time, but better to leave more than that time find your track, etc. Good luck!
There are a few factors to consider such as purchasing tickets and time of day you will be travelling. RER E in about 15 minutes or Bus 43 in about 20 depending on traffic. I'd give an hour but a more comfortably an 1 1/2 hour.
Thanks! Is the access from Nord to RER E easy - and is St Lazare the first stop?
Sounds like a nice walk is best, With a stop on the way in a cafe to people watch and relax. As long as the neighborhood is safe that might be my choice. Will be doing it in mid afternoon. I have past visions of the T in Boston where you were in a sandwich.
Can I buy the train ticket from St Lazare to Vernon in advance, like at Gare du Nord the previous week?
Thank you all. I have purchased my ticket on the web so that is handled, and gave myself 2 hours to change trains.
Merci et Bon Voyage!
