We will be in Paris for 7 days and I am planning my itinerary? I am sure you can spend as much or as little time in one place as you want!! But what I would like to know is how much time would a day trip to Giverney take. I am planning to take the 8 15 train and try and get there around 9 30 AM. ANd spend just enough time and get back to Paris around 2 PM. Is that too ambitious ??

We were there last May, spent between 2-3 hours, visiting the Monet gardens and his house. Not any of the surrounding sights. We went away very satisfied, though it is possible we missed out on some things of value.

My wife and I went to Giverney planning to spend a couple hours and back to Paris. We were there most of the day. We did see Monet's house and gardens in two hours but had a long lunch in one of the old hotels and then went to the American Art Gallery just down the main street.

Hi Sarah! We took and early train last May and enjoyed the gardens and house and left after we had seen enough. We rented bikes to get to Vernon and back. We were back in Paris well before 2:00 p.m. The one thing we did ahead of time is purchase our tickets to Monet's House and Garden at the FNAC store near the train station Gare St. Lazare. Have fun!

Do the trip. You will not be disappointed. It will take most of the day. I'd say about 5 hours.
