I can't find this in the Paris book. How late are the stores (not restaurants) open that are mentioned on the Champs-Elysees Walk?
I have walked/shopped along the Champs-Elysees quite late at night several times, usually after a hike up to the top of the Arc du Triomphe. Stores are open (not the Peugot shop, though). It was around 10:30 or 11 pm when I went into a music store and purchased some French CDs and into a dept. type of store and bought some scarves. Once when walking near a night club, the paparazzi were thick in front of it and I had to cross the street in order to get past them. They were lined up to snap photos of French movie stars entering the night club!
Opening hours are based on a store by store basis. FNAC - which is the store mentioned by the previous post is open late - it is a main ticketing point in central Paris for attractions and shows (you can buy the Paris Museum Pass here too) - closes at midnight.
However - typically stores are open until 19h or 20h. Thursday nights things can be open later until 21h. Example - Louis Vuitton is open until 20h Monday thru Saturday.
There are several movie theatre, the Lido and of course many restaurants.
Thanks, sounds like some things might be open...not that we'll be doing much shopping, but I want to go in a few after 7pm.
Nancy...Sephora is open very late- so are the record-CD-DVD stores.
