August i believe tends to get really hot..coming from Delhi you should be used to the heat...
Make sure you make reservations in A/C rooms.
Use the link to find average temperatures the past few years on the temperatures of the places you want to go .

I think you could do swiss and paris in 6 days( lot depends on what you want to see) but it could get really rushed. Swiss is so beautiful and has so much to offer..you could spends all 6 days there and have a fantastic time.

They are not the same -- Paris is a city, Switzerland a country. With just six days, I would stay in Paris and maybe a couple of day trips from Paris or three in Paris and three days somewhere else -- close by -- Amsterdam, London, so transportation is not a major issue. You will lose a day going from Paris to somewhere in Switzerland.

I have noticed that Switzerland and the Swiss Alps are much loved by people from India. The Swiss tourist bureau even publishes brochures for visitors from India, as well as manuals for the hotel keepers and hospitality industry, helping them understand the needs of visitors from India.

So I can inderstand Esha's desire to include Switzerland on this trip. It is quite possible, actually. There are fast trains from Paris-Est to Basel. From there you can change to a train going to Lauterbrunnen, in the heart of the Bernese Alps, with a total travel time from Paris of 6 hours. Or head to Luzern, with a total travel time of 4 hours 40 minutes. While Luzern is not itself in the mountains, it is situated on a beautiful lake, and there are mountains nearby, each possible for a nice daytrip. Rigi, Pilatus, or Titlis.

Since Luzern is not high in the mountains it can be quite warm in August, but certainly no warmer than Delhi. The Lauterbrunnen Valley might be a bit cooler, and the charming villages situated high above the valley, Wengen and Mürren, even cooler. August can sometimes bring cold weather and thunderstorms to the mountain areas, but generally the August weather is good. It is the most popular time to visit, so hotel reservations are essential.

If you want to visit both Paris and Switzerland, fly into Paris and home from Zurich. There are direct flights from Zurich to Delhi on Swiss and Air India.
