I've got about five days at the end of June/beginning of July.
Cheapness is the biggest factor, but not at the expense of fun.
Suggestions?
I speak spanish, but not well enough to not clearly be a tourist.

Your question is a bit unclear.
Barcelona is a city and a province in the region of Catalonia.
Alicante is a city and a province in the Valencian community.
Malaga is a city and province in the region of Andalucia.
There is no association between Barcelona and Alicante.
I heartily dislike Malaga, I dislike Barcelona, but not quite as much. Alicante is a dump, but has a pretty good archaeological museum and a very marginal art museum.
If you meant Andalucia (rather than Alicante) go there, but skip the city of Malaga.
