We only have a few days on our last leg of our European trip. We are renting a car in Frankfurt on July 10 and we fly out of Munich early on July 13. What should me do? I really wanted to see Rick's favorite Castle, Eltz, but I don't know if that is feasible since it is on the West side of Frankfurt. I'd love to stay at least one night in a quaint German town. Can you wonderful experts help me plan this part of my trip?

Emily; Going to Burg Eltz would be out of the way. I would save that for another trip. I would head south and stop in Rothenburg of der Tauber, also one of Rick's favorite places. We stayed at a hotel inside the wall last year and really loved walking around in the evening when all of the bus loads of tourists left. It is touristy but we didn't care about that. Our kids did the Night Watchman's Tour and loved it. You didn't say if you've ever been to Munich before, but it's worth at lease a copule of days.
