I have not but good friend stayed in one with her husband and two college age kids. They loved it. Said at end of day of sightseeing would sit on their deck, and watch the sunset over the canal. Mornings they got up and walked directly across the street to the hotel where they had breakfast included with their houseboat rental. I will ask her to reply to you with more details. But they loved it!
