Hi.
I would like to know if anyone has rented a house in this area and could make a recommendation. We would be especially interested in Grindelwald, Murren or perhaps Lauterbrunnen.

You will find lots of apartments in charming chalet-style buildings in both Grindelwald and Muerren, as well as Wengen. A full stand-alone house all for one family would be unusual. But the apartments can be spacious and private , sometimes occupying the entire floor of a three story chalet, with a flower bedecked balcony and sometimes access to a garden area with barbecue.

I rented a chalet apartment for my upcoming trip through Chalet Service in Wengen (chalet-service.com). I got the recommendation from someone who has used that agency regularly for over a decade. As my trip isn't over yet I can't say for sure but so far the experience has been smooth and the agency very professional. There are also a variety of chalet apartment rentals through the sites such as VRBO and HomeAway.

also, each town has a website that provides a list of apartments under "Accommodations". The muerren.ch website even provides links to the apartment webpages, if they have one.
