Does it make sense to stay out of the Paris area and take a train to the airport and if so from where? We will be in the Beaune area two days before departure but could stay somewhere closer the night before we are to leave.
It all depends upon what time your flight leaves. According to the timetables at www.bahn.de, you can leave Beaune as early as 05:55, change in Dijon, and go directly to CDG, arriving at 08:20. To be safe, you should be at CDG three hours before your departure time.
You also could spend the whole day in the Beaune area, take an evening train to Paris and the RER to CDG, and stay in an airport hotel.
