Hotels Recomendations - Paris and Barcelona

Hi! My husband and I are going to Paris and Barcelona the second week of September. Can anyone give me hotel recommendations? (Ideally a hotel no more than $380 per night, but we are flexible if needed.) -We'll be in Paris for 1 1/2 days, and plan on doing the major attractions.
-We'll be in Barcelona for 2 1/2 days, and also plan on doing the main attractions. Also, anyone have itinerary suggestions for these two places for the amount of time we'll be there? We're thinking of also doing Versailles and Monet's gardens while in Paris, but I dont know if that's too much of a stretch.

First recommendation is to either buy or peruse the RS tour guides for both cities. These books are loaded with pertinent, useful and well researched information. Can easily help you decide what it is you wish to see in each vibrant city and the time it will take to do so. Your budget for your hotel will allow you to book in some excellent properties. Two great cities.
Enjoy them.

I can highly recommend Hotel Jazz in Barcelona. The location, close to Placa Catalunya is convenient for walking either down Las Ramblas or up into the Eixemple and the Gaudi sites. It is a modern "boutique" hotel with roof terrace which is a nice spot to enjoy a glass of something in th eevening before dinner. there is also a small pool up there. Our room there last May was 130 euros (without breakfast, which we preferred to take at a local cafe/bar for much less than th ehotel breakfast.) Take a look at the reviews on Tripadvisor for confirmation on Hotel jazz, and other suggestions. If you want to visit Sagrada Familia, be sure and book your tickets in advance (on ServiCaixa) to avoid the very long ticket lines. You can also avoid lines at the Picasso Museum and some others (Miro, Catalan) with an Articket.

I recommend Hotel de Lutece on Ile Saint Louis (little island east of Notre Dame) in Paris. Wonderful, charming neighborhood surrounded by the Seine river.

That's a great combo of cities! With your budget, you will be fine finding something nice and central. I always rent apartments or stay with friends in Paris so I can't help there but since you only have a day, I'd stay in the Latin Quarter. Normally I'd say the Marais, but not on a tight schedule where every minute counts. For Barcelona, the place I liked best was Hotel Colon right in the Gothic Quarter. I'd also splurge for a room with a balcony facing the cathedral (which is my favorite in Spain). There's always some live performances going on in the square below. It's kind of overly floral on the decor, but still nice. Have fun!

Thank you everyone! :) I accidentally mistyped, and meant hotels below $280 if possible, if that changes any recommendations. But I know that might be a tight budget in Spain, so we can adjust a little if needed. Thanks again.
