What is the usual check-in time?

Your hotel should provide this as part of the conditions of your reservation. They are run independent of each other and can set their own times.

As Nigel stated, it depends on the establishment. I found that it is generally same as in the US: sometime in the mid-afternoon.

If you already have reservations at a hotel, send them an e-mail and ask them. If they do not respond to your e-mail in a week of so and it is really important, give them a call but be mindful of the time zone changes so you do not call them in the middle of the night. Good luck.

Nancy, I've found in most places in Europe, check-in isn't until at least 13:00 later, as they may not have the room cleaned by then. If the room wasn't occupied the previous night, they may allow early check-in.
