Anyone stayed at Hotel du Guesclin, or Hotel Mouton Blanc recently? Did the Mouton Blanc get the promised new paint and carpets? Is there a reason Rick doesn't include du Guesclin? (It's the budget recommendation in Cadogan.) They seem to be the only 2 places with a room left for April. What's the scoop on them?

One year we stayed at a small hotel a couple of kilometers from Mont Saint-Michel and just drove to the car park there to visit it. The hotel was fine and much cheaper. Just an idea.

We stayed at Mouton Blanc several years ago and would not stay there agian. It needs more than paint and new carpets--maybe a major overhaul. Also, we had some items taken from our luggage and this apparently happened when we went out to view the high tides.
