Hotels near deGaulle airport

We will spend 2 weeks in France- the first week in Paris and the second week on the Burgundy Canal. At the end of that we will spend one night near the airport. Can anyone recommend a good, but not impossibly pricey, hotel near the airport? Obviously, reliable shuttle to the airport is a must! Thanks. Marje

Spend your final night at a Formule 1, Etap, or Ibis hotel at CDG. Inexpensive with free shuttle service to the airport. Go to www.accorhotels.com and enter Roissy as the location. You want the Formule 1 Roissy Aeroport CDG PN2, Etap Hotel Roissy CDG Paris Nord 2, or any of the Ibis hotels listed as being within five minutes of the airport.

Marjorie, I also just posted this information for Maria who had a similar question. We just returned from Paris and decided to stay at the Ibis at CDG the night before our flight. It worked out perfectly. Ibis is built into terminal 3 and the shuttle train that runs to terminals 1 and 2 is right there, no need to even go outside. You don't have to worry about getting a cab or the weather or train strikes this way. The Ibis is a good, clean, budget priced hotel with a good breakfast buffet that starts very early since airline travelers are their main customer. I booked online at Ibis's website and I think it was 85 or 95 euros plus 7 euros for buffet breakfast. We took the express RER train from Champ de Mars/Tour Eiffel station the evening before and we got off the train inside the airline terminal, went up the escaltor and in the hotel entrance. Just confirm the night before which terminal and gate you will be flying out of in the morning.

Hi Marjorie, I agree with Lise and Tim in regards to Ibis Roissy. Be sure to book Ibis hotel code 1404, as this is the one at the RER station and has the free shuttle bus to the terminals. Just enter "Ibis 1404" on your browser. Charlie Robinson, Lodi CA

Marjorie....no need for the shuttle bus if you stay at the Ibis Terminal (1404)...they've been replaced by the CDGVal continuous shuttle line. If that one's too expensive, or doesn't have availabilities, check out Ibis at Paris Nord 2....also at CDG, but a 10 minute shuttle ride from the RER and the CDGVal line....and usually cheaper than the Terminal location. It's hotel 3299 at www.ibishotel.com. An even cheaper alternative is the Etap hotel chain, also part of the Accor hotel empire. It's hotel at Paris Nord 2 is even cheaper, yet clean and comfortable, and uses the same shuttle as the Ibis to access the airport terminals. At www.etaphotel.com it's hotel code 3515.

Hi Marjorie--We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in the big complex of hotels near CDG, all with shuttle service to the airport. We chose it because we had Holiday Inn "points." Many U.S. chains have hotels near the airport, so if you have a "frequent guest" membership with any, you might one to see if they have a branch near CDG.

I am going to Paris in November, soon, and booked a one night stay at CDG prior to my departure the next morning for an early flight. I went on priceline and selected paris, airport hotels, CDG, 4 star, and named my price. I started at $80 but that bid was too low and I got a room at the Sheraton for $116 USD including tax (normally $185 + taxes).

You will get one of the three hotels there, and all are good, sofitel, sheraton and i can't remember the 3rd one. but anyway, give that a try. Make sure you indicate a 4-star hotel selection, as you want to be at the airport, not in the surrounding area. : )
