I will be returning to the USA from CDG airport in the morning and I am planning to fly from Barcelona the day before to CDG. I would like to stay in a hotel near the hotel and I am looking for recommendations
Ellen, I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at the Le Bourget area close to De Gaulle. Its cheap and you can just take the bus across the street to take you directly. Good luck!
Ellen,
There's a Sheraton Hotel right in the airport (Terminal 2, I believe). If your budget can manage a "high end" Hotel, that's probably the most convenient choice.
Cheers!
The Accor chain has a Formule1 and an Etap at CDG. Both are served by the same ten minute shuttle. The rooms of the two hotels are essentially identical, except Formule1 only has a sink in the room. (accor hotels.com)
Ellen, i have stayed at the Etap hotel CDG, basic accomodations, clean, free shuttle, and cheap.
My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton in Terminal 2 of the CDG airport that Ken mentioned. The rate listed on the back of our door was about $800 USD, but I found it on Hotwire for $99 per night! We didn't know the name of the hotel until we purchased it, but we did know that it was a 4 star hotel in Terminal 2 of the CDG airport. It was beautiful, and we had a view of the planes taking off and landing, which was spectacular. We walked out of our hotel and were immediately in Terminal 2, which has several restaurants to choose from if you don't want to pay a fortune for food in the Sheraton.
My wife and I traded in some Starwood points to stay in the Sheraton at CDG which was a great way to end our two week stay in France. We were concerned about pulling off the downtown Paris to airport trip in the morning in time to navigate the lines at the CDG. By staying at the airport, we were able to roll in after dinner in the City, check into the hotel the night before where we stayed in a nice, quiet room. The next day we took our bags over to the Air France counter, checked in, and then returned to the hotel for a leisurely breakfast. It was very easy and relaxing which made the flight home much less dramatic and hectic.
There's also an Ibis at Terminal 3, not to be confused with the Ibis/Roissy. The latter does have shuttle service, but the former doesn't need it. You get the inter-terminal tram a few steps outside the door. These are budget choices, but clean and comfortable.
