Hello, Going to be honeymooning in Paris and wanted to stay inthe St Germain de pres area. Any reccomendations for 3- 4 star hotels in the area?
What does 3-4 star mean to you? How much are you willing to spend? The Madison is pretty nice, it's right on St Germain - - close to the SGdP metro stop.
I would say 3-4 by US hotel standards. Its for a honeymoon and my fiancee is kind of picky when it comes to hotels. Id like to spend $350 or less a night...emphasis on the less. Thanks
Take a look at Hotel Recamier. It is a perfect location in that it is very close to many sites, but is absolutely quiet at night. It should be close to your price range. the rooms are small, but it's quite stylish and has great beds and nice baths.
I only have personal knowledge of the Madison, as Ed mentioned, it's very nice. I'd look on Trip Advisor and read their reviews.
We have stayed at the Hotel Clement (6 rue Clement) 2-3 times and are going back in June. Rates are from from 140 Euros (on-line) with breakfast an additional 15 Euros. It is a small boutique hotel a block from Saint Germain between rue de Saine and rue de Montiaucon. The Mabilon station is around the block, and the Saint Germain des-Pres and Obeon stations are 3-4 blocks away. It is close to Saint Sulpice and the Jardin du Luxenbourg. There is a market and shops across the street and many cafes nearby and the famous café de Flore, café Procope and brasserie Lipp are only blocks away. This is a great hotel to use as a base for both walking trips and subway trips. From here, we have walked to the Luxenbourg Garden; Saint Sulpice, the Saint Germain area, the Left Bank, Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Marais walk.
Raul, I can recommend the Hotel du Pantheon. It should be in your price range. The rooms are small by US standards, but very nicely done. The staff is quite helpful. The location is terrific.
We are staying at the hotel Abbatial Saint Germain in late July/early August based upon a recommendation from a friend but we haven't stayed there ourselves. Good reviews on Trip Advisor and verrcentrally located.
If money is not a huge issue I would stay at the Hotel Aubusson, I stayed on same street a few years ago and loved the area. The hotel I stayed at then was the Hotel Le Regent liked it very much, but make sure you choose the Deluxe room, the standards very very small.
