Any recommendations for hotels in Madrid, Bilboa and Zaragoza for family of 4: 2 adults and 2 teenagers, in late July early August.
In Madrid, check out Hostal Acapulco in Plaza del Carmen. It's number one on tripadvisor, get's great reviews here, and is in Rick's book. You can expect a rate of about 85 Euros per night for a quad. I believe their website is under construction, so send Javier an e-mail at [email protected]
You can also find his contact info in RS Spain guidebook.
Hotel Europa in central Madrid also gets very high marks...in Rick's book. Check it out: www.hoteleuropa.net
We are big fans of Hotel Europa in Madrid especially since the remodeling. The location is perfect on a mall just off of P. del Sol.
Just a reminder that part of the exterior of the Hotel Europa was being redone as of May...part of the side along Calle del Carmen and the entire side along Puerta del Sol. There is also a considerable amount of construction being done in Sol, so make sure you as for a room where the view is not obstructed, perhaps along Calle de Tetuan.
It may be late for booking the more popular hotels (in Rick's book) in Spain. We went last fall (September/October) and we had a hard time finding rooms in our preferred places even when booking several months in advance. Book ASAP - time is short.
