Hotels in Marseille

Marseille can get a little ruff in the evenings. I would try and stay around the port area where it's always busy.

I stayed at the Hôtel Alizé right at the port. I paid extra for a room with a port view, which was very nice; the room itself was plain but serviceable. Minimal English was spoken, but I managed in a combination of French and English. I see that rates have gone up since I stayed there in 2006; I paid €83 for the room that is now €98 (low season) or €128 (high season).
