Hotels in Lourdes

We'll be visiting the region in July while the Tour de France is in the area. I've been told there are so many hotels in Lourdes that finding one will not be a problem. Is this true? Any tips on a moderately priced hotel with AC for July? Are there any alternatives to hotels, such as a B&B?

I would think that ANY town along the Tour route will be extraordinarly busy at the time. Couple that with the popularity of Lourdes as a religious destination, especially during the summer months, and I would suggest advance bookings would be necessary.
