My wife and I are intending spending a night in Leuven prior to joining the Rick Steves tour of Belgium and Holland in September. Any hotel recommendations out there?

We stayed in the Theater Hotel. Center of city and excellent breakfast. Spotless. We also parked for free on the street. I'd highly recommend it! Nancy

I haven't stayed there, but Hotel Malon sits right across from the train station. Unlike a lot of cities, where the area around the train stations can be a little seedy, the surroundings are pretty nice. If you want a cheap option, I have stayed at the Ibis in town. Pretty much standard fare for Ibis. Leuven has is own, non-touristy version of Brussels' Rue Bucher, Muntstraat. Don't even look anywhere else for dinner!
