Does anyone have suggestions for budget hotel in Latin Quarter area of Paris? Around $100-$150 per night... Would you advise this a good home base for first trip to Paris?

I've stayed twice (in 05 and 09) at the Hotel Cluny-Sorbonne. It is in a good location, across the street from the Sorbonne University and a few blocks from the Seine.
It is also close to the Museum of the Middle Ages which is one of my favorite museums in Paris. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

Hotel Eugenie,, 1/2 block from the river and within a 5 minute walk of Notre Dame,, 3 minutes to the St Michel RER station which if you take the train in from the airport .
