We will be in Haarlem at the first of the year; does anybody know of good , reasonable hotels ? Has anybody stayed in the ones mentioned in R.S.' book?
Thomas,
My husband and I stayed at the Joop's hotel in Haarlem and it was okay. The bed's are hard as rock's, but the breakfast was good. It is decorated in King Tutt style. We had a room in the back and it was quiet, but some on our tour had rooms in front and complained about the noise from the bar next door. I really like Haarlem and would stay there again, probably not at the Joop's. It is in a good location across from the Church. We also stayed at the Marriott Rennaisance in Amsterdam for two days and it was very comfortable and close to the train station. Have a fun trip, we loved the area.
I've stayed at the Carillon hotel in Haarlem many many times. It's a small familly run B&B situated on the main square. Very simple, en-suite, very clean, a bit basic, very friendly and low cost. Some of the rooms are not that large but it has a nice friendly atmosphere.
We stayed at the DieRaeckse Hotel.Parking is available accross the street and it is located within walking distanceo f the center. They had a good breakfast and were very firendly and helpful.
