R.S. Paris book doesn't list any hotels in this part of town. Can anyone recommend any? Need to be close to gare to get RER to airport, and would like to combine quick visit to Montmartre/Sacré Coeur. Thanks!
Try Hotel Libertel. We stayed there (package deal from London) and it was extremely clean. The breakfast was quite bountiful(free), and the desk clerks were nice and helpful. Very easy to get to the train station from there.
Gare Du Nord Suede
Boulevard Magenta 106, Paris.
But you can get to Gare du Nord easily by most Metro lines.
There is a hotel directly across the street from Gare du Nord. It's called the New Hotel, and it's definitely not fancy, but it worked well for us for 1 night when we needed to be close to Gare du Nord. The New Hotel also has a Metro entrance about 15 feet from the front door.
This hotel is so close to Gare du Nord, I loaded my luggage onto the rolling luggage carrier from the train station and went all the way out the front door, across the street to the New Hotel.
I stayed at Ibis Chateau Landon Gare du Nord.
Chain hotel (part of Accor Hotels), but very clean, quiet, 2 elevators, air conditioning - very good prices. My room on the 7th floor had a terrific view of Sacre Couer in the distance. They offer a breakfast buffet for additional money, but lots of good cafes and bakeries right near hotel.
Easy 5 minute walk to Gare du Nord or Gare de L'Est and many metro lines, plus RER.
