We are 3 women traveling to Freiburg for 2 nights in mid-May. Most of the RS suggestions are too expensive for us or unavailable. Does anyone have any thoughts on Hotel Baren, Hotel Schemmer, or Apartement Unterer Wiehre-Blick? Our budget, when possible, is about 105E per night for the 3 of us; all of these fit within that budget. Thanks. Janet

In the center of the nearby village of Kirchzarten, the Ferienwohnung (apartment) am Osterbach has 3 bedrooms and will run 68 Euros/night for 3. You can walk to the train station in 10 minutes, from where you can reach Freiburg's main station in 13 minutes or head into the Titisee area on the Hell's Valley railway. The train trips from here are free (Konus card, all hosts issue one to their guests.) Their calendar shows availability from 5/15-20. Webpage is in German but owners advertise that they speak English. http://www.dreisamtal.de/en/unterkunft/show.php?id=272 Other options: http://www.dreisamtal.de/index_en.php?lang=en

Thanks for the tips. I will check into that apartment.
We stayed at the Schwarzwaelder Hof Hotel during May of last year and loved it. I think it is within your budget and they offer so many extras such as a complimentary transit pass which we used every day we were there. It is just steps from the Munsterplatz, which has the most wonderful market on the weekends. The hotel also has free Wi-fi and a computer kiosk that you can use at no cost. The food was great and the owner was very helpful. Read the reviews on Trip Advisor for more info. You will love Freiburg, it is such a charming town.
