I am going to be in Chamonix at the end of May 2008. Does anyone have recommendations for a hotel around 100 Euros a night?
Hm, I was going to say Au Bon Coin which is cheap and basic, but was OK when I stayed there, but it appears it will be closed

http://www.hotelarve-chamonix.com/en/index.html is open and starts at 59Euro a night
or try some of the sites listed in http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/France/Regions/Rhone-Alpes/Haute-Savoie/Localities/Chamonix/Travel_and_Tourism/
or the tourism site for the valley (Chamonix actually is the town at the end of the valley, but there is a lot of nearby places strung out along the valley floor) is at http://www.chamonix.com/page.php?page=0&r=accueil&ling=en and offers a search function for online reservations and availability.
Michelle,
You will be in Chamonix in the shoulder/off season. There will be folks begging you to stay with them. If you go to the Tourist "I" and tell them what you want, they will fix you up. We travel that way all the time and this will be a safe time to try it yourself. You will NOT sleep on a bench. You will not have to spend 100 euros.
