hotels in Bayeux

I am going to spend a week in Paris at the end of May and am travelling to Bayeux for a few days after that. What are some good hotels to stay at in Bayeux? I would like something near the middle of town.

I would definitely recommend Logis Les Remparts. ..One of the best rooms we stayed in - in Europe. . . Excellent hosts......easy walking distance all over town.....

I would also recommend a Battle Bus tour. We took a 9 hour tour and our guide was very knowledgeable....

I was in Bayeux about this time last year and stayed at a place called,Hotel Reine Mathilde, thier website is www.hotel-reinemathilde.com. It is centrally located reasonably priced and less than a minute walking distance to the WWII tour pickup location. I recommend Battlebus too, I took the Band of Brothers tour and the 2 day American experience, both very insiteful with lots of stories and sites one would not hear or see if touring on their own.

I forgot to mention, as I said I was there about a year ago, in fact the same time of the year as you. Be sure to take some warm clothes, we caught a little rain but lots of cold wind! During the tours you are in and out of the van quite a bit in fields and villages so practical walking shoes are a must too.

When I was in Bayeux I stayed at the Hotel de la Gare. As the name implies, it's right next to the station. While it's not in the middle of town, it is cheap and cozy if nondescript. The town center is only a short stroll away if you're up for a brisk walk through a quaint town like Bayeux.
