Looking for a small hotel or nice B&B in El Borne or other area in the Barri Gotic in Barcelona. We prefer being in a fun spot near cafes, shops... We don't mind night noise. Any suggestions?

Not sure when you are going, but we will be staying at Hotel California in a few weeks, which has gotten very positive Trip Advisor reviews and the rates are very reasonable. So far our correspondence with the hotel has been very positive. Hope that is helpful. Good luck!

We were in Barcelona last month. I highly recommend Banys Orientals in El Born. They are a boutique hotel with small/medium rooms and they also have large suites in a separate building (which is where we stayed) around the corner. The suites are 130 euros per night and I think the rooms go from 80 to 105 euros per night depending on size. The staff there was amazing- we really felt welcome and they were always willing to give us recommendations or just to chat. On our last day, we had to take a cab at 4:30 in the morning - the guy actually stood outside with us to keep us safe and chatted with us for a good 15 minutes while we waited. If that's not service, I don't know what is. As to the areas, El Born was just as lively, but not as crowded as Barri Gotic. I wouldn't stay in Barri Gotic though just because it definitely felt like less of a neighborhood and more of a tourist magnet. El Born has plenty of cafes, shops, bars, and whatnot, but it just doesn't feel overrun in the same way that the Barri Gotic does. Hope you have a great time!
