I am traveling with my teenaged son the end of November and first part of December. I am interested in hotel suggestions (modest, not pricey) in Vienna, Venice and Florence. Thank you for any suggestions and advice on this.

I just stayed at Hotel Tivoli in Venice for a few nights. Their rates are very reasonable. Breakfast and wifi are included. It is about a 5-min walk to the Vaporetto and the Grand Canal. A Traghetto stop is nearby. I don't think you can beat their rates; the location is a little less convenient than some of the others. H. Tivoli is near the Frari church and Scuola San Rocco. There are a couple of piazzas, gelato places, bars, etc. closeby. The hotel is family-run. Everybody knows English. I usually find hotels at Venere.com.
