We are going to Amsterdam in the middle of may and are having a hard time finding a hotel. Any suggestions of hotels that aren't in Rick's books? Looking for 150 Euro's or less.

My friend and I are going in August and decided upon the Hotel Orlando www.hotelorlando.com - only 5 or so rooms and gets great reviews at trip advisor. We're paying 100 euros for their smallest room, so if you're willing to pay 150 you could get something really roomy. However, b/c it's so small, it might be all booked up for may, but worth a shot :)

I always stay at the Hotel Heemskerk at the museumplein. It is a small hotel at the back of the concertgebouw. Norman is the owner and lives at the hotel. It is easy walking to museums and city center and tram stops are just outside the door. www.hotelheemskerk.nl Price includes breakfast the norman and staff are very helpful with directions and reservations

Just got back from AMS..stayed Hotel Vondel for $126 a nite on expedia..4 Star hotel with great beds/flat panel TV and walking distance to museum area..Pretty sure rooms are cheaper Sunday thru Thursday
