Hi, looking for suggestions for hotels in Amsterdam, central location priority,, like being in thick of it all. Clean and private bathrooms,, nothing else matters, old bedspreads and faded carpet not an issue for me. Priced under 100-110 euros a night max. Anyone stayed at the Hotel Nadia? Thanks
pat, I stayed at the Hotel Acro in Amsterdam in September, and the room (single) was very comfortable albeit a bit small. It had recently been renovated so all the fixtures were completely modern, and there was a very comfortable Duvet on the bed. The renovations appeared to be still in progress. I just checked the website, and it appears to have been renamed the Poet Hotel now. The room that I had appears to be the same one shown as a "Cozy Double 16x". The Hotel is in a very convenient location, as the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum are both only about a five minute walk. There's a Tram stop right across from the Rijsmuseum, and using one of the RFID cards, it's easy to zip around the city via Tram. Travel from there to Amsterdam Centraal is only about 10-minutes by Tram. The breakfast room was down one floor from the front desk, and the breakfasts were very good. There's a Bar adjacent to the front desk, so easy to get a drink or coffee any time. Happy travels!
We have stayed at the Beethoven Hotel next to the museum district several times. Its in a nice residential apartment and shop district and an easy tram ride on no. 5 from South Station (Sud). We have walked from there to Central Station, the museums, Dutch Resistance Museum, all over from there. We take the train from Central Station to Sud Station, buy a tram ticket on no. 5 and get off at the third stop. The hotel is right there.
Hi, yes we stayed at Hotel Nadia , several years ago but found it to be great, it was recomended to us by Amsterdam tourist board and so you cant really go wrong.Rooms were quite small but very clean and of course had private bathroom. The hotel also had a pleasant breakfast room. Finally a added bonus was that the hotel was really close to the Ann Frank house/museum.
Enjoy Amsterdam.
My college sophomore twin sons stayed 5 nights at the Nadia this summer and were quite pleased. Although small, they found it a nice change from the hostel they stayed at in Berlin. I set this up for them as hostels are much more expensive in Amsterdam.
Location and price are great. It's close to everything, while not being directly in the late night activity. The central location means that everything is walkable without having to use the trams.
Pat, We stayed at the Owl Hotel last time we were in Amsterdam and found it to be very convenient and within walking distance to all the museums, etc. Look into it.
Rho Hotel is right off Dam square, can't get anymore central than that and it's in your price range. But it doesn't have AC. If you book direct via their site three months in advance they will give you an additional 10 % off the advertised rate: http://www.rhohotel.com/ Another hotel nearby to consider is the Avenue Hotel. Same price range, and quality but does have AC: http://www.avenue-hotel.nl/ If all else fails there is the Ibis above Centraal Station, largest hotel in the city but rooms are very small.
