My husband and I will be in Nantes mid-September to mid-October. My husband has been there twice before but I've never been. It looks like there are two "centers" in Nantes, one being near the Cathedral and the other near the Place Graslin. What are the pros and cons of choosing a hotel in each of those areas? What sites are near each? Is either better than the other for just "hanging out" and enjoying cafe life, etc.? We usually choose small hotels, in the low-mid price ranges (well under 100 euro/night), with some character. Any specific suggestions? Many thanks for suggestions, tips, advice.
