Hotels/B&B's In Lausanne

We have one night in Lausanne before we fly out of Geneva. Any suggestions for a reasonably priced one convenient to the train station?
Thanks.

pat, Could you clarify "reasonably priced"? You might have a look at This Hotel as it's one of the closest to the train station. Switzerland tends to be expensive, so you'll have to decide whether proximity to the station or price is the most important factor. Happy travels!

pat, we also have stayed at the Hotel Elite and enjoyed it. The first time was in 1993 (with a view), the second time in 2001 (with a view by leaning out the window). Both times were very nice; staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was delightful, beds were comfortable--but do note date of our stays!

Hi Pat My sister and I took our Mom to Switzerland in 2009, and we stayed at the Hotel Elite in Lausanne for one night. The rooms we had were average, but the breakfast was outstanding. The location is also very nice. But be warned that you have to walk up a steep hill to get to the hotel from the station. The staff were extremely nice and friendly. I would certainly have no hesitation in going back. Penn

Not sure of your dates and it's been four years since I was in Lausanne for one night only...can't recall if Hotel Elite is where I stayed...I'm 90% sure it was. Anyway, the standard/less expensive rooms didn't have air conditioning & it was hotter than heck with super high humidity in early July...hard to sleep. And there was a soak factor after walking up that hill. The front desk and breakfast room areas were are conditioned. I seem to recall that you could upgrade for a lot more and possibly get AC (if that's important). I don't typically need AC, but the heat and humidity were really something else in July. Believe me, Mürren (next destination after Lausanne) was cold in comparison. Anyway, just a tidbit that might be helpful. Happy travels.
