We are planning a family trip to Europe next summer. We will be concentrating mainly on London, Paris and the South of France. I would like to also spend one night in Bruges. Is it possible to find a hotel or b&b that would have a room for a family of 5? Thanks for your help!
caroline, To begin with, is this your first trip to Europe? If so, it would be a really good idea to read Europe Through The Back Door, as that provides a lot of fantastic information on "how" to travel well in Europe. I wasn't clear if your question referred to Hotels that will accept a group of five in ALL the locations you'll be visiting, or just Bruges. I'd suggest spending at least two nights in Bruges, as it's an incredibly beautiful city (IMO). You might enjoy making a short bicycle trip to Damme (reward yourself with a "Triple" at the local Pub when you get there). You might find it helpful to check your local Library or larger bookstores to see if they have copies of the Guidebooks for the locations you'll be visiting. The books have good Hotel listings, along with websites. Good luck with your planning!
Thanks Vernon for your help. This is not my first trip to Europe but it will be mmy first trip to Bruges. I am planning to use VRBO in London and Nice since we will be staying for a week in those places and renting an apartment for 3 nights in Paris. I would like to find a hotel room for 5 in Bruges. Most of the ones I have looked at seem to accomodate up to 4 people. I love your idea of biking to Damme. I think we will increase our stay to 2 nights in Bruges. Thank you again.
