So I am looking at prices online for hotels in Paris. I haven't been able to figure out if the taxes and fees are included in the posted prices. If I look at hotels.com or if I look at the actual hotel website I haven't been able to find an answer to this question. Does anyone know what the norm is for Paris? Right now I'm just assuming there will be an extra charge when I get to the hotel, am I wrong???? Thanks in advance for any help!
The tax added to your hotel bill in Paris is small, something like 68 cents a day.
What Swan said, it's a bit less than one percent of the price of the room. You won't even be able to spot it if you pay by credit card since it'll look like only a minuscule currency conversion fluctuation.
The standard practice in Europe is to include taxes and fees in the posted price. About the only add-on you'll run into is a charge for breakfast, unless your hotel includes breakfast for free. Also, the price tag in European stores always includes the taxes. If only American merchants would adopt this practice!
Thanks for the help everyone! I think I like the way they do things in Europe. :-)
