Hotel Suggestion for Nice, France

We are planning to go to Nice France in March 2013. We are looking for a hotel to stay for a week. Can any one suggest a clean well located hotel?

Rick Steve's has recommended Hotel Suisse. I have stayed and confirm it has killer views. You may be able to rent a place for a weekly rate that's better, but this Hotel was exactly the way Rick described it.

jerry, I definitely second the suggestion for Hotel Suisse. The room that I stayed in really a fantastic view down the beach and the Promenade des Anglais. It's in a great location, only a short walk from the old town and markets and other sites. I don't know if they offer weekly rates, but you could enquire. Happy travels!

Suggest Hotel le Royal. Only stayed there one night but it too has fantastic views.

We stayed at the Hotel Solara in Nice this summer, it was great. We booked early and got a top floor balcony room and it had a huge balcony. We loved the hotel, it was comfy, clean, the ac worked great, and the staff were so very nice and super helpful. Read the reviews for it on tripadvisor.com, just google " Hotel Solara Reviews" and you should be able to find them easily. The price was great too.

Also....take look in RS guidebook; he will describe how there is an elevator very close to Hotel Suisse that will take you up to the mountain above you. This is a nice little bonus.

I've always liked the Hotel Grimaldi, although it's been a few years now since the last time I stayed there. Check it out on Tripadvisor and see what folks are saying these days.

I took a short trip to Nice last week. Didn't consult a guidebook as I usually do for hotel recommendations. I just looked at TripAdvisor and booked the Best Western Hotel Roosevelt. It was in a good location, short walk to the beach Promenade, old town and the train station, and 2 blocks from the central shopping street where a good tram line runs. Not much of a view from the hotel though -- if you need that. There is also another Best Western Hotel, "New York" a few blocks away that I noticed, in a good location also.
